Henry Farm is a neighborhood in Toronto, in the area of the former city of North York, with a distinguished history of politics and farming.

Henry Farm is located in the north-central part of Toronto, the neighborhood boundaries are Sheppard Avenue in the north, Highway 401in the south, and Victoria Park Avenue in the east.

Another smaller neighborhood, Parkway Forest, is now part of Henry Farm by an official designation from the City of Toronto. The history of Henry Farm began in 1806 when an Irishman, Henry Mulholland, came to the region. He was the first European to settle in the area.

A few years later he sold the land which was purchased again in 1898 by his great-grandson George S. Henry.

George S. Henry was a successful politician who served his country during a distinguished career of forty years becoming Toronto´s Premier in 1930. He held that high office until 1934.

Besides politics, his other great passion was his dairy farm which excelled as one of the finest Holstein cattle ranches of that time.

The people who developed the neighborhood as it is today bought the farm from Henry in 1958 for two million dollars. Some accounts mention that he died the day after closing the deal, while others say it was ten days after selling his property.

Henry´s home, Oriole Lodge, still sits in its original location at 17 Manorpark Crescent, and his great grandfather´s cairn is further up the street.

Today, Henry Farm is considered a small neighborhood in Toronto that has a strong spirit of community and family. The neighbors association is recognized as an active community that organizes numerous activities involving residents, parents, and children.
