Ledbury Park is an affluent neighborhood in Toronto whose origins were influenced by the writings and poems of the British writer Sir Walter Scott.

It is located in the southern part of the North York area. Its boundaries are Avenue Road to the east, Lawrence Avenue to the south, Bathurst Street to the West, and Wilson Avenue and Highway 401 to the north.
The site of an old farm known as Lawrence served as the founding grounds for Ledbury Park. The whole area was just a small farming community until the early 20th century.
At that time, the first homes in the zone were built along what is now Bedford Park and Woburn Avenues.
The area north of Woburn Avenue had been the former hobby farm of Alfred St. Germain. He was a successful publisher and owner of the Toronto Evening Journal. In 1922, St. Germain´s property was acquired and subdivided by the Melrose Realty Company under the name Melrose Park.
H.A. Clark, president of Melrose Realty, was an admirer and avid reader of the works of Sir Walter Scott.
He adopted the street names for the subdivision from the novels and poems of the British author.
St. Germain and Old Orchard Grove were chosen to honor the farm´s owner and its apple orchard. Deloraine, Melrose, Marmion, and Falkirk come from Scott´s writings.
The character of the area has changed a lot since the 1990s becoming one of Toronto’s more upscale neighborhoods. Ledbury has a predominantly Jewish population on its western boundary along Bathurst Street, and today it is considered a premiere zone.
Recently, Ledbury was granted a Canadian Architect Award of Excellence for its innovative approach to neighborhood planning.
