Also known as Sloane, Victoria Village is a neighborhood with a rich cultural heritage. It is located in northeast Toronto and limited by Lawrence Avenue East to the north, Victoria Park Avenue to the east, Don Valley to the west, and Eglinton Avenue East to the south. Even though these are the official geographic borders, many people include a small area located south of Eglinton Avenue, too.

Before it was developed, Victoria Village was farmland. It was owned by the Herron family who ran an orchard business in the area. The original house of the Herron family is still standing on Woodthorpe Road.

The town developed into a suburban area during the 1950s and 60s just as many other neighborhoods within the new city of Toronto. Victoria Village was conceived to house the increasing population in the region. That is why the community is filled with residential buildings.

Architecture varies significantly along the neighborhood; it goes from bungalows to semi-detached homes, including a few two-story detached houses.
