Flemingdon Park is a neighborhood located in the district of North York, Toronto, recognized for being a multicultural community. Its limits are set by Eglinton Avenue East to the north while the west and east branches of the Don River border the area on the west, east, and south.

Like most of what is known today as the city of Toronto, Flemington Park was farmland before it became a suburban area. The neighborhood was named in honor of Robert John Fleming, who owned the first farm established in the area. The farm became public land after Mr. Fleming’s passing.
The idea of transforming the farmland into an apartment area emerged in 1958, as a result of the immigration and the population growth. The neighborhood started occupancy of the first buildings two years later and was it completed at the beginning of the 1970s.
The area was first conceived to be a working-class neighborhood; therefore it had an excellent public housing policy. However, the community has continued to develop and diversify. As a result, new apartment buildings have been created including luxury towers and houses for upper-middle-class residents.
The plans for further development include eight luxury condo towers, a light rapid transit line, subway lines to benefit the residents of these exclusive areas of the neighborhood, new shops, offices, and much more.

Flemingdon Park is an area that might be best known for being the locale of  Ontario Science Centre: maker of childhood memories and host of school buses galore since 1969.
Even though it was built as an affordable housing solution for immigrants during and after the Second World War, Flemingdon Park has become a multicultural center that draws the attention of locals and visitors. It offers a solid education system, has a low crime rate, and a wide assortment of housing options.
